Lunar Eclipse September 2015 - Flagstaff Arizona
I took 16 pictures with my Canon 7D mark ii and then composited them together in Photoshop against a picture of the night sky.
This lunar eclipse was the 4th in the tetrad of 2014-2015.
It was also a "supermoon". A supermoon appears larger than normal because it is closer to the earth.
This eclipse started just as it was rising above the horizon just outsied of Flagstaff, AZ.

Corona Arch near Moab Utah. The arch is 140'x105'.
Someone actually flew their plane through the arch.
In March of 2013 someone died by miscalculating rope length in an attempt to swing from the top. (Climbing ropes stretch 10% or more).

May 20, 2012 Solar Eclipse over Arizona. I shot the eclipse every 5 minutes and then exposed for the landscape after the sun went behind the rocks. I photographed the eclipse a few miles south of the center line of the event - about 10 miles south of Page Arizona.
As a photographer I love shooting landscapes because it provides a great excuse to travel. The Southwest is one of the greatest places on earth to explore and a favorite to photograph.
I am available as a photographic guide of the Southwest, including instructional tours where you will not only be guided to the unique landscapes, but will acquire new photographic techniques and skills. However be ready to rise early every morning - the best light for landscape photos occurs at sunrise and sunset...

Photographing landscapes gives me cause to pause and enjoy.
But more than that, taking picutres of creation makes me appreciate new ways of seeing the beauty around me.
