Grand Canyon at Sunset from Lipan Point

I took this photo during one of my wedding photography sessions at Lipan Point on the South Rim of the Grand Canyon.

Lunar Eclipse of September 2015 as seen from Flagstaff AZ. This is a composite photo of several pictures taken 3 minutes apart and placed over a starfield.

Lunar Eclipse September 2015 - Flagstaff Arizona

I took 16 pictures with my Canon 7D mark ii and then composited them together in Photoshop against a picture of the night sky.

This lunar eclipse was the 4th in the tetrad of 2014-2015.

It was also a "supermoon".  A supermoon appears larger than normal because it is closer to the earth.

This eclipse started just as it was rising above the horizon just outsied of Flagstaff, AZ.

The next photo is a composite of multiple shots I took on a cold night at AZ Snowbowl of a lunar eclipse that ended just before dawn.

Someone actually flew their plane through the arch.

In March of 2013 someone died by miscalculating rope length in an attempt to swing from the top. (Climbing ropes stretch 10% or more).

Solar Eclipse near Page Arizona, May 20, 2012
May 20, 2012 Solar Eclipse over Arizona.  I shot the eclipse every 5 minutes and then exposed for the landscape after the sun went behind the rocks. I photographed the eclipse a few miles south of the center line of the event - about 10 miles south of Page Arizona.

As a photographer I love shooting landscapes because it provides a great excuse to travel.  The Southwest is one of the greatest places on earth to explore and a favorite to photograph.

I am available as a photographic guide of the Southwest, including instructional tours where you will not only be guided to the unique landscapes, but will acquire new photographic techniques and skills.  However be ready to rise early every morning - the best light for landscape photos occurs at sunrise and sunset...

Photographing landscapes gives me cause to pause and enjoy.

But more than that, taking picutres of creation makes me appreciate new ways of seeing the beauty around me.
